The yellow lines

It's funny how some people can be so ridiculously inconsiderate. Though it shouldn't come as a surprise actually. Taking the mrt during peak periods can be really a hassle. Ok it IS a hassle. I, for the first time, witnessed (with the best view) the extremely unique behaviour of people boarding the train. First of, the LTA has painstakingly got contractors to paint pretty yellow lines that provide a very clear understanding of where to stand for commuters to wait at a diagonal side of the door so as to not block the commuters who are disembarking from the trains. However, we have a special breed who do not seem to be able to follow this simple procedure.

And here are the possible reasons that I can think of:
1) they really can't see it
2) they refuse to see it
3) they don't know where to stand even after seeing it
4) they refuse to stand where they're suppose to
5) they're all just plain outright retards
6) on top of either of the above points, they want to rush into the trains for a seat

All of these reasons are really sad. And the last one being the more obvious reason is extremely barbaric. I stood at the line with the intention of letting passengers come off the train first. This Malay lady came beside me. Stood in the middle of the doors, and shoved her way in when the doors opened. She went for the seats and god should everyone have seen her facial expression. She had this I-must-get-it look on her face the whole time, with her mouth opened and her eyes so wide, I could've sworn she looked like a dinosaur.

Coming from a society that stereotypes based on merit, awards and other non-characteristic attributes, boy do we have a long way to go.

the scent of familiarity

there's someone sipping on a very aromatic cup of coffee, and it's highly distracting because I've just realised that the smell reminds me of being in foreign land. Be it cafes, hotel lounges, during breakfast, walking pass some random stranger with a cuppa warmly tucked in his palms on a chilly afternoon, and of course at night at the occasional diners where some people just need that kick to get them going. GAWD. WHY NOW? of all the places and time. noooooooooooo........

Ka boom!

I don't like it when I'm in a position whereby I'm helpless. It feels really....degrading. Haha. Anyway, I'm probably gonna get back on track for my PPCDL. And hopefully (fingers crossed) I get it all settled before I serve my nation. Speaking about serving the nation, I somehow realise I've been speaking about it with so much gusto...... I wonder how many people are actually proud to serve their country. LOL! I shouldn't speak to soon I guess!

It's been such a long time since I've grabbed a book, be oh-so-obsessed and complete it with much satisfaction. I'm trying to read the five people you meet in heaven, and I'm pretty much on a roll!(:

Ok. Heading home now. In a bit.

who drew the circle around my name in my passport!

going to malacca after a pretty long while, and frankly i can't remember much. LOL. I've been promised lots of amazing food and I'm both psyched and afraid of meeting these temptations. hahah. There'll always be setbacks for everything in life!

had dinner on monday at Perperoni Pizza (ok well actually L'estaminet Bar since both are owned by the same person and the bar closes later thus we were ushered to seats next door which still happened to be equally great) which is located at Hillcrest with the other half and boy do they have one of the best pizzas i've had. we had a 16" one if i'm not wrong, and we managed to have two halves of different flavours/types. one was some sorta steak with rocket leaves and the other was pepperoni i think. I THINK. but what ever, it was still really good. plus one fish and chips which reminded me fondly of london (miss that place so much). so yeah. great place. highly recommended. but that's if there're anyone reading this space. haha.

here's an interesting poster from L'estaminet Bar. Justification for the usage of a highly popular word. lovely.

reluctance

I feel pretty lost. i mean i know my phone has a gps system(an awesome one) but I mean it in a abstract manner. but i don't really feel very comfortble, do you get it?

oh well, life still goes on yeah?(:

It's raining. Right now. I swear.

I want my pancakes, just four, fresh from the pan, each with a generous spread of blueberry jam, little red scarlet jam, nutella and HONEY!!(: Since the last July, I've been very glad to say that I've had great help from SSSSSpongebob in making my dining experiences extremely comforting for my palate, thank you very much. Damn, I really pity all those who choose to painfully starve themselves. Yikes!

tonight what i want to devour is a succulent piece of ribeye steak, medium rare, with just the right amount of fats lining the outer edge. And to top it off, some mashed potatoes with special gravy in the middle......................

on second thought, a bowl of MAGGIE MEE would do just fine(:

at long last

it has certainly been a while since the last time this space was even remotely touched, but due to certain requests made specifically to me, well, let's just say i'm a very nice person.

so let's see, we had:

- New Year
- Jeffy Boy's Birthday
- the 22nd of January(:
- Last day in school
- Chinese New Year
- Valentine's Day
- the 22nd of February(:
- and now

I guess saying i had a pretty good time would be a horrible understatement. there's probably nothing else that can leave you feeling nostalgic during festivities when you're surrounded by really good food, brilliant ideas, wonderful company of family and dearest friends, and just lots of heartwarming laughter(: I mean, we all may be in pursuit of each of our own aspirations, hopes, desires and needs, but at the end of the day we probably wouldn't be anywhere near where we are now if not for all the continuous support from our loved ones.

anyhow, there's this one thing that i want to talk about but i'm not sure if it's gonna be appropriate. taboo taboo indeed. HA

study hard(:

the time of the year.

once more, we're all plagued by the festive mood, whether we like it or not, though actually acknowledging it is another matter altogether for different people. but who cares really. i enjoy it. i am and have always been. probably always will !(:

so time was pretty much spent releasing my materialistic desires into the enticing world of retail therapy considering that i've landed myself with a totally reliable shopping consultant with a good eye that i've found myself pretty much reliant to fall back on. HA. point to all, puma has this range of very light weight shoes with awesome colours. and i kinda feel they're multi purpose? go figure that part out yourself. sooooo as much as the crowds were a little of a put off, i guess awesome stuff made up for that huh. HAHA. and an end to the day like no other! woots!

did i mention that last sunday was really an under-rated blast! god, those involved in one way or another, i should've given my response by now so i'm leaving it at that. ROARRRR(((: do you agree when i say that feelings can also have the snowball effect. picture happiness starting as a small snowball and letting it roll down a never ending hill. what do you get at the never-end?

hahah. i thought so(:

I DON'T NEED NO DOCTOR!

the one with all the bits and pieces

after such a terrifying break from this god forsaken place on the web, it kind of feels just right to be back here, right now

ever feel all fuzzy when someone made you happy? or have you ever felt that unexplainable sense of jubilation when you know you're behind someone's happiness? feels good aint it? and you know what's better? given the chance and opportunity to experience it over and over again. it's something one would not expect but that's what's the whole emotion is about. which brings me to surprises, and what it holds for the receiver. such widespread anticipation, just hanging in the balance, right in your face but not obvious enough to be noticed; it really is one of my favourite feelings, if i may put it that way. point to note, distinguishing surprises from shock. haha.

this 4 months have been really an awesome time for me. it's been pretty much a blur, but somehow an extremely vivid blur. every step and every moment so clearly panned out in my mind. it's probably a recollection that's actually enjoyable.

so people of the night/day, and who ever's reading this, take a moment once in a while, to relax. put on a good song. something that would help you recollect your thoughts, emotions, and most importantly your memories. for without them, we probably would be just empty shells, like robots roaming the earth.

good night(:

It's about time

It's about time I say! Damn it's already the end of august, hopefully 6 more months is all that's left! With projects over three weeks ago, exams over just this Monday, I've had like the past 4 days of enjoyment and commitment purely for relaxation. And two more days stand before me before I join the so called "workforce" for the next 3 months for my internship!! Talking about that, just attended the briefing for the attachment phase and after seeing the many other companies other students are attached to, I guess I'm really in no position to complain. At all. Hahah beats the crap out of being at the zoo huh JIA PEI?!? Wahah.

Then again, last Saturday was just blissful really. I like surprises. Who doesn't? I mean something really good coming your way when you least expect it, that whole emotion just packs a punch really(: so yeah naturally SH was doing just that. Just plain awesome la! ROAR. And damn it, if this isn't pushing my creativity ttm, I dare not think what will!!

oh I think stuff from cortefiel are pretty sharp yet casual. Random? Not.

In a bit(:
