indeed it was how a weekend should be

before i proceed i must thank my abang cong wen, for it seems he has been a loyal follower of this space (since he always pokes fun with relations to my posts hhahaha), but it's always nice to know that there are a few persons out there who would take or waste their time to read whatever's here. i like a small audience in this case. haha. and yes my dear, YOU're my biggest fan :D

so anyway the weekend was more than great, i mean bali's always pretty nice. but the itinerary lived up to it's hype and i definitely had my fair share of fun. white water rafting, bali treetop adventure and SURFING were the highlights and are certainly must tries if you ever head to bali i must say. can't wait for jonathan's adventure company to be up and running. i would love to call myself a loyal follower when the time comes!!

anywayyyy photos are a handful, quite actually. so all in due time. hopefully the girlfriend finds time to send them to me. that's if studying doesn't snatch her away!(:

the ladies behind me

hahah. it's been terribly long and i must say i do not have an exceptionally good excuse for the absence. but then again, it's not like there are readers. i do hope i'm wrong. LOL.

was nudged into working in august and here i am back in an office environment slogging it out the data entry way! dang. thankfully time has passed fast enough for me to stop soon. really looking forward to the trip this thursday! not cause of the destination, but more of the activities lined up in the itinerary. if wifi's available i will try to post some pictures.

with approximately a month before i obediently serve my nation, i say i'm pretty game for it. being overly enthusiastic and prepared are seperate matters altogether, but i feel the wait has been too long to not feel either of the two. almost 9 months the wait has been!! omg. it's been really fast though, and i think the only regret i have is missing the opportunity to learn how to ride a motorcycle. HAH. doubt that would've materialised anyway.

and did i mention? THANK the heavens for the resumption of How I Met Your Mother, Gossip Girl and The Big Bang Theory!

seriously, whoever (or whatever) is reading this space, take a look at this. i can almost swear i couldn't agree more. ok fine, i hereby swear it's just so true. REALLY!

world cup really kicks the ass out of the laziest craps in the world. or do they just stay home to watch on cable? anyway, all the late night matches have been absolutely worth catching and going "ooooh", "aahhhh", or even "GOALLLLL!!!" hasn't felt so good. i guess doing it only once every 4 years does make it worth while. GO SPAIN!

caught iron man 2 last monday if my memory serves me rightly, and boy was it really really cool. i mean ok, it's (almost) every boy's fantasy to be like iron man. i mean, c'mon, cool suit, weapons, FLYING who doesn't right? but somehow i find the iron man franchise so far pretty realistic if i may say, like it isn't the fairytale story of a simple good-wins-bad-fullstop kinda thing you know? plus i had good company watching so perhaps that's a viewing enhancement! hahha.

on the topic of movies, watched ip man 2 too. and yes cool stuff as well. it's a shame there're gonna be a few movies who're gonna ride on the ip man franchise. different directors and different ip mans. weirddddd. whyyyyy. tony leung? SERIOUSLY!? hahah

kick kick kick!

feels good to be relaxing, just going with the flow. heading out for a swim be it day or night, going for a jog, or the gym, reading, watching some shows, seeing the lil ones and having nice and inexpensive meals. i'm pretty happy. seeing a coach makes it all so sweeet(: hahah.

well, being a male at this age, everyone's all about NS etc. seeing some guys getting their enlistment letter, ranging from may till august, makes me want to treasure the civilian life i have. i'm definitely not dreading to book into tekong (YET), but right now, i feel it's a wee bit too soon. i wanna hopefully do some stuff that i've listed down, and catch up with all those people whom i've been neglecting. just hope it all works out. BTW, haven't got it yet HA.

talking about friends, some close dude friend told me that "friends come and go". well, not that i do not know that it happens, but realising that it might be happening NOW is a bit disheartening don't you think? the consolation i can think about is knowing who the real ones are. life goes on!(:

where the light is

I've always told abang that if i could, i would sit at the balcony outside my room and just strum away on a lazy afternoon. though that's just probably a fantasy, this guy (points to picture above) sure does it well. damn it, i was introduced to john mayer about 2 years ago, and the first song i heard was something i wasn't impressed with. the next song that came along was your "body is a wonderland", and i thought, 'hey, sounds pretty neat'. so i started listening to more tunes of his and i swear to god, i've been pretty hooked ever since.

The yellow lines

It's funny how some people can be so ridiculously inconsiderate. Though it shouldn't come as a surprise actually. Taking the mrt during peak periods can be really a hassle. Ok it IS a hassle. I, for the first time, witnessed (with the best view) the extremely unique behaviour of people boarding the train. First of, the LTA has painstakingly got contractors to paint pretty yellow lines that provide a very clear understanding of where to stand for commuters to wait at a diagonal side of the door so as to not block the commuters who are disembarking from the trains. However, we have a special breed who do not seem to be able to follow this simple procedure.

And here are the possible reasons that I can think of:
1) they really can't see it
2) they refuse to see it
3) they don't know where to stand even after seeing it
4) they refuse to stand where they're suppose to
5) they're all just plain outright retards
6) on top of either of the above points, they want to rush into the trains for a seat

All of these reasons are really sad. And the last one being the more obvious reason is extremely barbaric. I stood at the line with the intention of letting passengers come off the train first. This Malay lady came beside me. Stood in the middle of the doors, and shoved her way in when the doors opened. She went for the seats and god should everyone have seen her facial expression. She had this I-must-get-it look on her face the whole time, with her mouth opened and her eyes so wide, I could've sworn she looked like a dinosaur.

Coming from a society that stereotypes based on merit, awards and other non-characteristic attributes,boy do we have a long way to go.

the scent of familiarity

there's someone sipping on a very aromatic cup of coffee, and it's highly distracting because I've just realised that the smell reminds me of being in foreign land. Be it cafes, hotel lounges, during breakfast, walking pass some random stranger with a cuppa warmly tucked in his palms on a chilly afternoon, and of course at night at the occasional diners where some people just need that kick to get them going. GAWD. WHY NOW? of all the places and time. noooooooooooo........

Ka boom!

I don't like it when I'm in a position whereby I'm helpless. It feels really....degrading. Haha. Anyway, I'm probably gonna get back on track for my PPCDL. And hopefully (fingers crossed) I get it all settled before I serve my nation. Speaking about serving the nation, I somehow realise I've been speaking about it with so much gusto...... I wonder how many people are actually proud to serve their country. LOL! I shouldn't speak to soon I guess!

It's been such a long time since I've grabbed a book, be oh-so-obsessed and complete it with much satisfaction. I'm trying to read the five people you meet in heaven, and I'm pretty much on a roll!(:

going to malacca after a pretty long while, and frankly i can't remember much. LOL. I've been promised lots of amazing food and I'm both psyched and afraid of meeting these temptations. hahah. There'll always be setbacks for everything in life!

had dinner on monday at Perperoni Pizza (ok well actually L'estaminet Bar since both are owned by the same person and the bar closes later thus we were ushered to seats next door which still happened to be equally great) which is located at Hillcrest with the other half and boy do they have one of the best pizzas i've had. we had a 16" one if i'm not wrong, and we managed to have two halves of different flavours/types. one was some sorta steak with rocket leaves and the other was pepperoni i think. I THINK. but what ever, it was still really good. plus one fish and chips which reminded me fondly of london (miss that place so much). so yeah. great place. highly recommended. but that's if there're anyone reading this space. haha.

reluctance

I feel pretty lost. i mean i know my phone has a gps system(an awesome one) but I mean it in a abstract manner. but i don't really feel very comfortble, do you get it?

I want my pancakes, just four, fresh from the pan, each with a generous spread of blueberry jam, little red scarlet jam, nutella and HONEY!!(: Since the last July, I've been very glad to say that I've had great help from SSSSSpongebob in making my dining experiences extremely comforting for my palate, thank you very much. Damn, I really pity all those who choose to painfully starve themselves. Yikes!

tonight what i want to devour is a succulent piece of ribeye steak, medium rare, with just the right amount of fats lining the outer edge. And to top it off, some mashed potatoes with special gravy in the middle......................

on second thought, a bowl of MAGGIE MEE would do just fine(:

at long last

it has certainly been a while since the last time this space was even remotely touched, but due to certain requests made specifically to me, well, let's just say i'm a very nice person.

so let's see, we had:

- Last day in school

- Valentine's Day

I guess saying i had a pretty good time would be a horrible understatement. there's probably nothing else that can leave you feeling nostalgic during festivities when you're surrounded by really good food, brilliant ideas, wonderful company of family and dearest friends, and just lots of heartwarming laughter(: I mean, we all may be in pursuit of each of our own aspirations, hopes, desires and needs, but at the end of the day we probably wouldn't be anywhere near where we are now if not for all the continuous support from our loved ones.

anyhow, there's this one thing that i want to talk about but i'm not sure if it's gonna be appropriate. taboo taboo indeed. HA
